This tour will take you to a non-touristy place. This tour is valuable because every day there is many amazing views and experiences. Amongst the highlights are a beautiful island view, rice growing and carpet making village, homestay where you can interact with local people, a visit to a big floating market nursery garden, ancient house, cooking Vietnamese dishes and boat trip along the river.

Itinerary

Day 1: Saigon - Vinh Long (_,L,D)

08:00: Car to Vinh Long (4 hours).

12:00: Arrive at a small village - non touristy town in Vinh Long province, only available at Innoviet. Motor-boat will bring you to the home stay; there you’ll be greeted by the host family.

13:00: Have lunch in a very cosy atmosphere. Relax on hammock

14:00: Let’s discover Mekong delta with 01 hour boat trip around the island to see the beautiful of nature. Visit some houses where you can meet local people and see their real life.

15:00: Enjoy 2 hours for doing gardening with local family: Being real farmers to irrigate garden, transplant trees in practically… with lots of fun and valuable experiences! 

17:00: Back to the home stay. Prepare for cooking class with many recipes of Vietnamese cuisine, enjoy our results (dinner). 

After a short study of Vietnamese language with our host family, we walk around the village to see and catch fire-flies before retiring in the Mekong rural house.

Day 2: Vinh Long – Can Tho (B,L,_)

06:00 Get up early to enjoy the fresh air and do some exercise to be more healthy.

06:30: Visit the floating market by boat and see how people there live and trade. Drop in the market on land where you will be Vietnamese to buy some fruits in Vietnamese.

08:00: Ride your bike (about 2 hours) around the small village roads shaded by bamboo, banana, rambutan, pomelo, and mangosteen trees. Pass the immense green rice fields with flying egrets, working farmers and admire the beautiful scenery. 

Have an overview of the “Rice Making Procedure” in one Rice workshop. Get to know what are the "same same, but different" trees in the Mekong Delta. You will practise & try to guess the names of these trees just by your nose! 

We visit a pagoda and stroll around a very quiet garden of pagoda. Then boat back to the home stay, we will enjoy lunch. After taking a rest in the garden, we’ll say good bye to the host family.

15:00: Local boat to Can Tho. Check in hotel. Have free time.

Day 3: Can Tho – Sa Dec (B,_,_)

06:30: Take a boat trip (4 hours) to see Cai Rang, the biggest floating market in the Western of Vietnam. On the way you’ll visit a rice noodle factory and learn how to make rice noodle. Then take a slow boat trip along the small beautiful canals.

13:00: Car brings us to Sadec, on the way stop to see mat making village. 

17:00: Arrive in Sadec, check in hotel. Dinner and relax.

Day 4: Sa Dec - Cao Lanh – Saigon (B,_,_)

08:00: Car pick up from the hotel to the local restaurant for breakfast, then start to Sadec city tour. We will visit The Lover house, Kien An Cung Pagoda, Sadec flower village. 

10:00: Car brings us to Cao Lanh and down to Xeo Quit, a small sampan boat trip and walking around to see the former base of the Viet Cong. 

12:00: Car back to Saigon, on the way we stop for lunch.

17:00: Arrive in Innoviet office. End tour.

Homestay: There are 2 homestays: typical house and new style house. 

+Typical house: beautiful view (river view, nice garden), beds with Vietnamese mattress – no sheet

+New style house: private room for group 2 or 4 people in 1 room, beds have Vietnamese mattress – no sheet, river view, bathroom

Meals at homestay: 1 Breakfast, 2 lunches, 1 dinner.

2 Star hotels in Can Tho and Sadec: Double sharing room (twin room will be charged 5USD/per), breakfast.

Under the age of 5: Free of charge for 1 child (stay in the same size car used for group).

5-10 years of age: 70% cost of adult ticket will be charged (stay in the same size car with their parents).

Cancellation policy

In case of cancellation before 3 days: 0% cost of ticket will be charged.

In case of cancellation before 24 hours: 30% cost of ticket will be charged.

In case of cancellation before 12 hours: 75% cost of ticket will be charged.

In case of cancellation less than 12 hours: 100% cost of ticket will be charged.

Participant Guidelines: What to bring
